A Pattaya resort employee has been arrested for burglary and the rape of a colleague, which has rocked the seaside resort community.
At 10.30am today, April 8, Police Lieutenant Colonel Arun Saphanon, Deputy Director of Investigation at Pattaya City Police Station, along with a team of investigators, served two arrest warrants at the home of 40 year old Samart Nakthong.
The warrants, issued by Pattaya Provincial Court, were for reportedly breaking into a house at night and rape by force, as well as assaulting the victim.
Kesaraporn Mokarat reported the incident to the police. According to her statement, on the early morning of March 23, Samart broke into the staff accommodation, attempting to force her out of the room. She resisted, and a co-worker intervened just in time, preventing Samart from taking further action.

However, the situation took a darker turn. On April 3, Samart reportedly threatened Kesaraporn, stating that he would release her private photos unless she came to his house.
Fearing the repercussions, she complied. Upon arriving, she was allegedly attacked and raped by Samart.
In a statement to police, Samart denied the accusations, claiming that he and Kesaraporn had been in a romantic relationship for three years and had recently broken up.
He suggested that the complaint stemmed from Kesaraporn’s dissatisfaction with not having a motorcycle to commute to work, reported 77Khaoded.
Despite his claims, police were sceptical and have continued with the legal process, dismissing his explanation as inconsistent. The investigation is ongoing, and police are determined to ensure justice is served.
